Registration issues occur when the machine sewed in a location it was not supposed to. The Registration Test sews lines directly on top of each other; if these lines do not match, that indicates registration issues. Due to the pull of the fabric as the thread passes through it, there won’t be perfect registration in embroidery. However, the steps below provide guidance on limiting the effect of this pull and other causes for registration issues:
1. Run the Registration Test.
2. Check if you are getting Jagged edges, without other Registration issues.
3. Update your software to the most recent software version.
4. Check your Sew Speed.
7. Check your Acti-Feed.
8. Check Needle Centering / Needle Calibration.
9. If you are running into registration issues on Caps, make sure the Wide Angle Cap Driver is adjusted correctly and do the maintenance lubrications.
10. Check the X Cable Tension.
11. You might need additional technical assistance. Here are the available Melco Technical Support options to verify the X Spool Assembly Head Socket Screw adjustment PN# 010171-16.
In the pictures above there is only an issue with X registration
13. Check the Hooping.
14. Check the Hoop Arm Clip Adjustment. If a RegistrationTest.ofm completes without issues on a Cap, it is likely the Hooping System that is causing the issue.
15. Check the Digitization.
16. Make sure a Thread Feed Forward 200 Test completes successfully.
17. Try a Feeder Profile Test.
18. Check for Homing Issues.
- Check Understanding the Sensors Menu, for a dirty sensor or Chipped paint on the X Carriage.
- Check the Hoop arms.
- Reflash Firmware.
The pictures above show a machine that homed with a dirty sensor.
19. If you notice registration issues that are Needle Specific, try running a Registration 2 Color Test.
20. If the situation remains unresolved, you will need additional technical assistance. Here are the available Melco Technical Support options.
- Check if the encoder is working correctly if the x/y at 0 is not centered in the hoop.
- The X Motor PN: 30901-01 or Y Motor might need to be replaced.
- The Main-PCB might need to be replaced.
- The Harnesses might need to be reseated.
- Refresh the Melco data in the Windows Registry.
