Troubleshooting Missed/Skipped Stitches

Missed Stitches happen when the Top Thread doesn’t connect to the Bobbin. Missed Stitches might appear to be similar to Registration Issues, but the causes are different. Missed Starts are when the bobbin fails to connect at the start of the sew. Verify you are getting a Missed Stitch issue and follow the steps below.

  1. Check your Bobbin.
  2. Check your Presser-Foot.
  3. Check your Acti-Feed.
  4. Troubleshoot the Needle.
  5. Check your Hook Adjustments: EMT16Plus and EMT16* or  XTS and XT
  6. Check the Digitization.
  7. Check the Hooping.
  8. Verify you are using the Correct Needle Type. The size of thread might not match the needle size.
  9. Make sure a Thread Feed Forward 200 Test completes successfully.
  10. Try a Feeder Profile Test.
  11. Replace your Rotary Hook. Replacing EMT16Plus and EMT16 Hook or Replacing XT and XTS Hook
  12. The Thread Type might be too elastic to form an adequate loop.
  13. If the Take-up Lever Drive Gear is not aligned you might see Skipped Stitches or Flatline Acti-Feed.
