EMT16X: Selector timeout trying to find home position

This error means the machine was not able to move the knife correctly, follow the steps below.

1. Click Cancel to clear the error.

2. Remove the Needle Plate and Power Cycle the machine. If you don't receive the error, follow the steps for Set the Knife to Home. If you do receive the error continue with the steps below.

3.  Set the Connecting Link Assembly To Home

  • If Tools > Maintenance > Steppers > and the column under Selector is gray, verify the Trimmer Type.

4. Check for a NPT - Map Sensor:  Remains Empty issue.

5.  Turn the machine off and reseat the Cable (Harness "K2") that connects the NPT-PCB to the Main-PCB.

6.   Reseat that Harness (J63) on the end that connects to the Main-PCB.

7.  Your machine might have a second J63 harness that is not being used. Make sure the correct J63 is plugged into the Main-PCB, by following it from the Trimmer Drive PCBA PN 35119.

8.  Reseat the Harness General RFU to the Main-PCB.

9.  Turn the machine on and check for any errors in the Status Log.

10.  If the situation remains unresolved, or is happening on a machine model previous to the EMT16X (or EMT16Plus-NPT), you will need additional technical assistance. Here are the available Melco Technical Support options.  (Internal Article)
