Documented Sounds

This information is only for educational purposes. Confirm with Melco Tech Support or a Melco Certified Technician whether any of the sounds listed below match your machine's symptoms. These sounds are rare, more common sounds are not an issue for the machine. For example, the sound of motors locking themselves in position while idle (a hum sound). Without additional information or symptoms, for example sew quality issues, assume a sound is expected. See My Machine Sounds Different for more information.

1.   Tocking Sound while idle

This sound was caused by a loose fan over the control board.

 

2.  Loud Fan Sound
Confirm if the sound is the same without Fan movement, otherwise there might be a Fan on the Main-PCB.

 

3.  Loud Vibrating Sound

This sound was caused by a loose X cable.

Check Troubleshooting Noisy X Carriage.


4.   Louder/Vibrating Thread Feed

Check for Bad Feeder Profile Numbers.

 

5.   Z Jitter

Chirping Z or Z Jitter, is from resistance on the Z belt, this is normal.

 

6.   X Jitter

Chirping X or X Jitter, is from resistance on the X Cable.  This is normal.

 

7.   Z Grind  (No Z Grind) 

Check the 2,000,000 maintenance.

 

8.  Color Change Bind

 

9.  A Dry Hook requiring 2 Million Stitch (Weekly) Maintenance

 

10.  Presser Foot Near Cap Visor.  This might cause extra deflection.
