Troubleshooting Color Change Stepper Index Error

If your machine is giving you a Color change stepper index error that means the Needle Case was not able to color change left/right correctly, follow the steps below.

If you are using an Original Amaya (BigRed) machine, follow the steps at the bottom of this article.

 

  1. Check for error messages in the Log. You might receive a Color change timeout or Color change seek error.
  2.  Set the Trimmer Type for the machine.
  3. Verify the Machine Type.
  4. If the situation remains unresolved, you will need additional technical assistance. Here are the available Melco Technical Support options.

 

Original AMAYA (BigRed) Machine: 

1.  Check for error messages in the Log. You might receive an Error Trying To Read ALTERA On Motor Drive PCB.

2.  Power Cycle the Machine.

3.  Check if the Presser-foot is stuck between needles. The needle case might need to be manually moved.
