If your machine is giving you a Color change stepper index error that means the Needle Case was not able to color change left/right correctly, follow the steps below.
If you are using an Original Amaya (BigRed) machine, follow the steps at the bottom of this article.
- Check for error messages in the Log. You might receive a Color change timeout or Color change seek error.
- Set the Trimmer Type for the machine.
- Verify the Machine Type.
- If the situation remains unresolved, you will need additional technical assistance. Here are the available Melco Technical Support options.
- Do a Set Table.
- Check if the Thread Feed Drive Gear is aligned. If you are unable to align the gears by homing you might need to replace the Thread Feed Motor.
Original AMAYA (BigRed) Machine:
1. Check for error messages in the Log. You might receive an Error Trying To Read ALTERA On Motor Drive PCB.
2. Power Cycle the Machine.
3. Check if the Presser-foot is stuck between needles. The needle case might need to be manually moved.
