CONNECTED TO INTERNET:
Touchscreen Machines (Summit and Bernina E16 PRO) that are connected to the internet (recommended) should automatically receive updates. If the “Settings” button on the main page is flashing red, open the Software Updates page and you will receive a prompt to restart the machine to apply the update.
Two updates may be installed. In the event of two updates: after the first update completes, the “Settings” button will flash red again for the 2nd update which will automatically reboot the embroidery machine during the update process…the touchscreen will stay on.
(Only for the initial Bernina E16 PRO v1.1 update in September, 2023: After the v1.1 updates have completed, you will need to re-enter your WiFi connection settings on the machine to re-establish internet connection. WiFi settings do not need to be re-entered with current updates.)
NOT CONNECTED TO INTERNET:
Touchscreen Machines that are not connected to the internet will need to manually download one or two update files and copy the single downloaded file to a blank/empty USB drive with 32GB Capacity or Less that is FAT32 formatted (not exFAT formatted). If there are two update files, start with the APP update first. When that update has completed, delete the APP update file from the USB Drive (or reformat the USB Drive to FAT32 again) and copy the OS update and repeat the update process.
Plug the USB Drive containing the individual update file into the touchscreen. On the touchscreen, open Software Updates and press the Search for Updates button. When the update is found, you’ll be prompted to install the update. This update may take up to 20 minutes to complete and should display a Reboot/Confirm button indicating that the update process completed successfully. Press the Reboot/Confirm button. If you do not receive the Reboot/Confirm prompt after 20 minutes, start the process again.
