If you are trying to scan a Barcode and it does not scan, follow the steps below. Typically, the scanner will beep if it did scan.
- Try scanning the Barcode while a text editor such as Microsoft Word is open on the computer to see if Windows detects the scan.
- The Barcode Scanner being used must be Wedge. Do not use a Serial Barcode Scanner. Here is an example of a compatible barcode scanner.
- Loading a Design is the only function supported in the Simplified UI. To scan other barcodes, switch to the Advanced Interface (OS).
- Printouts created with a LaserJet printer are generally clearer and easier to read than InkJet printouts.
- Try scanning from a different angle ie. hold the scanner at different angles to see if one angle scans better than others.
- Check if artificial lighting affects your scanner. Some light sources might cause problems, such as some types of LED lights used for video production.
- If Barcodes still do not scan, load the PDF in an editor to make it larger.
- Try typing the code into a text editor like Word and convert the font to a Barcode Font.
