Touchscreen Brightness - Black Screen After Changing Brightness to Darkest Setting

This article applies to Melco SUMMIT and Bernina E16 PRO touchscreens.

In rare cases, turning the Brightness adjustment on the touchscreen nearly or all the way down could result in the screen going completely dark.

These steps should help resolve that situation:

1.  If you are still on the Settings screen, you can increase Brightness by sliding to the right. The screen will respond even though the options are not visible. The Brightness controls are directly across from the Down Arrow Button:

2.  Also, if you turn the embroidery machine's power switch OFF and then back ON, the brightness will revert back to the previous setting, since the setting hadn't been saved by exiting the Settings screen.

3.  If the Settings screen was exited while the screen is dark, and that Brightness setting was saved, you can attempt to restore the brightness by following these steps:

    • Power OFF the embroidery machine
    • Engage E-Stop
    • Power ON the machine
    • Wait until you hear the beeps from the machine (indicating E-Stop is engaged) and you see the red light on the Start/Stop button turn off....then wait another 10-20 seconds.
    • Tap the screen in the area where the Settings button would be - left of, and slightly below the center of the Start/Stop button (see image below).  You may need to tap a couple times to ensure that you hit the Settings button
    • Tap several times in the area where the brightness controls would be - directly left of the Down Arrow Button (see image above)
    • If that doesn't increase the brightness, turn the machine back OFF and try these steps again
